Qualifications

Steven A. Storslee is a 1976 graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law.  He is licensed in North Dakota and Minnesota.  He practiced civil litigation for over 40 years.  He now limits his practice to mediation and arbitration.  He is admitted to practice in all North Dakota and Minnesota state courts, the U.S. District Court in North Dakota, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He has tried many cases to verdict and has handled many appeals to the North Dakota Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

Mr. Storslee has over 25 years of experience as a mediator and arbitrator.  He is listed on the North Dakota Supreme Court roster of qualified neutrals.  He was previously appointed by Governors Hoeven and Burgum as the mediator in several city annexation disputes.  From 1996 – 1998, he served on the North Dakota Supreme Court Joint Alternative Dispute Resolution Study Committee.  In 1998, the Committee presented an extensive report to the North Dakota Supreme Court which ultimately led to the adoption of Rules 8.8 and 8.9 of the North Dakota Rules of Court concerning mediation.  He is a past and present member of the Joint Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution established by the North Dakota Supreme Court Administrative Rule 43.
